Owen Pallett Live Concert in Singapore!
The much awaited concert for all pop addicts is coming to Singapore. Canadian music genius, Owen Pallet (Final Fantasy, Arcade Fire, and Beirut) will perform at Esplanade Theatre on the Bay this January 7, 2011 putting forward his highly acclaimed orchestral masterworks.
Owen Pallett is a composer, violinist, and singer from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and winner of the inaugural Polaris Music Prize. Pallett’s concert at Esplanade Theatre on the Bay offers unique types of harmony including instruments loops and skilfully layering his flourishing sounds capes that are transformed into orchestral rotations.
Soundtracks are part of his third album “Heartland”. It is based on ominous narration of Lewis, , an ultra-violent farmer set in a invented landscape called Spectrum. The dark narration, put together with Pallet’s talent creates works that definitely enriching, pure orchestral pop awareness. Some of his works include orchestral arrangements for Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible, Grizzly Bear’s Yellow House, Beirut, The Flying Club Cup and The Last Shadow Puppets, The Age of the Understatement. He also written orchestral parts for Pet Shop Boys, played violin on Mika’s The Boy Who Knew Too Much and contributed string arrangements to the Mountain Goats album, The Life of the World to Come.
